Sending lots of love to you all. I didn't know Julia very well, probably because she was the first to move to Oz all those decades ago. (I do remember her gorgeous smile though!) But my late sister Liza was a frequent visitor to Perth and regarded Julia as a very dear friend/cousin and always spoke warmly and with much admiration for her and especially for the way she coped with enormous setbacks that would have overwhelmed most others. May her fortitude in adversity be one of her enduring legacies. May she rest in peace.
We met at TTC where we did our teacher training. Despite our different lives we kept in touch. I was thrilled that Mary & I met up with Julia when she came to the UK. Brief but special times together. So good to keep in touch over such a long period of time.
I have .any happy memories of Julia, my daughter Beverley was great friends with Angie. We seemed to either have two little girls at our house or none! Debbie, Theresa and Angela love to you all . My deepest sympathy on the loss of a lovely lady.
Dear Julia, so many happy memories of our school days at the convent in Salisbury, now Harare. We then went off to TTC in Bulawayo where you graduated and became an amazing, dedicated teacher. There were many happy birthday parties celebrated as our children grew up and attended Blakiston Junior school in Harare. We remained friends and kept in touch when you all moved to South Africa and then to Oz. I’ll miss our telephone chats and will cherish all the memories of a beautiful lady and beloved Mom. Condolences to the girls and their families, and Julia’s sisters. RIP dear friend.
Such a kind, gracious, strong spirited and generous person. Many wonderful memories of playing in the stream in your garden as a kid and sharing stories over cups of tea as an adult. Thank you for teaching many valuable lessons which I will take with me through life. We will miss you toots!💕
