My heartfelt condolences to Ros, Aerin, Lorien and the Graziani family. In my last conversation with Julian he shared in private the genuine awe he held for Roz and how his life had become so immensely better since marrying the love of his life.
Julian and I were good friends throughout our school days. I was always amazed by everything he did. Before I could drive, he let me try a motorbike he'd rebuilt. It shot out from where I stood as it flew upright onto its back wheel. That was the moment I realised his passion and gifting at rebuilding anything with an engine. Whilst I was still in TAFE, Julian had already logged many rally-driving races under his belt, and rebuilt multiple racing cars.
Julian lived life to the full not rectless but adventurous. On an early road trip with Julian and David Morley, we smelled a petrol leak and had to stop. Julian quickly found the problem and then a creative solution that quickly got us back on the road. This taught us a lesson about packing for road trips – never go far without a Julian in the car.
My conversations with Julian revealed what a responsible guy he was, well beyond his peers. As a teen and young adult he helped lead a fun-filled youth group and serious study group, where he calmly made wise decisions and cooly faced difficult conversations with impressive maturity. Julian supported, protected and cared for others sincerely, wholely, humbly and sacrificially – a true and genuine friend.
You are greatly missed mate!

My deepest condolences to Rosalind and family on the passing of Julian. Many happy memories of our High school days.
I watched online as I couldn't make the service in person. A truly beautiful service.

We were so sorry to hear of Julian’s passing. He was one of the first to welcome us to the neighbourhood, always ready to lend a hand,
from helping with the tree that first week to sharing his 4WD wisdom and trailer for our firewood trips. We’ll miss his kindness and good humour.

I will never forget the first ever fishing trip with Julien ,Simon,Phil and Ty.
We break an axle in the absolute middle of no where, im panicking thinking what the heck are we going to do now.
Julien dosent say anything and wanders to the back of the ute and grabs 5 beers for us all , he goes for a wonder in the bush and cones back with a some metal attachted to a trye. Cracks another beer ,fixes axel and off we go as if nothing ever happened.

Dearest Julian,
My earliest memory of you was in Year 4, when you sat too close and gave me boy germs. Little did I know that you’d become one of my closest and dearest friends.

Never a fair-weather friend, you were loyal to the core — stubborn as a mule and gloriously opinionated. I still can’t believe there’ll never be another chance to hear one of your opinions again (solicited or not!) and who am I to to go to for car advice now?

Behind all that was someone deeply sentimental, thoughtful, and kind — the sort of friend who never forgot a birthday. So, I’ll take this opportunity now to apologise for not always remembering yours.

Rest easy, Julian. You’ve left one hell of a mark and so many memories. Unapologetically yourself, you’ll have a lot of people smiling through their tears today. I’m so grateful for your last messages, and for your presence in my life.

Memories of him rescuing the 5 of us and the dog from Roley pools in 40 Degree heat and lending us his ute to get home. Will miss his brutal honesty and cheeky smile.
